I wanted to just write a few things about where D_comp has been...How it evolved...and where it is going as a music project. First and foremost..I am very proud of the music I have created over the years in D_composure. Here is a little walk down memory lane...
The first 2 songs where collaborations with Jon Cheadle. (Ex-Mindlikewater Keyboardist) We had a mutual love for Industrial and Electronic music and this was a fun side project for us. Jon left Florida and Mindlikewater went on for about a year with current friend and collaborator, Ryan Copt on keys. Ryan also expressed interest in said Genres and we did a few songs together near the end of Mindlikewater that led to the natural move to D_composure. We recruited some guys and recorded an EP. Bill Jarrett, Jason Mooney, Ryan and I. We had a very short run of shows and Jason had left the area. Mindlikewater drummer, Joey Butera sat in for a few gigs. So after all this...Ryan and I carried on with Bill playing bass. It was still mostly a band vibe mixing in electronic sounds and we recorded, Keep the World Out. Played a ton of shows and added Matt Short on 2nd guitar. We had a great run and played for hundred if not thousands of people over a year or two of time. During this period we were also recording our 2nd full length, The Future Wave. While we are so very proud of this record...it really did put the nail in the coffin for the project as a band entity. We decided to stop and focus on Mindlikewater and over the course of a year or so...we only recorded a few tunes as D_comp. Including a TV commercial for iHome Studio Series Products. A few conceptual ideas were stirring...all of which were canned. It was decided that a few shows might be fun as D_comp to sort of say goodbye to the band as a live entity and in 2011 we convened as: Myself, Ryan Copt, Matt Short, Josh Santmier and James Dickens. We played 2 gigs and jammed for fun for a month or two. So now the future...hopefully Ryan and I will find muse and pen an EP, Full Length or even just a Single as we go...I do not feel the project is dead and I get a lot of people asking when new music is coming. The answer is soon. I hope. Thank you for years of live support. The latest incarnation of D_comp was bound for greatness. Just time for me to move on. Hope all is well with everyone in the world and look for new D_comp later in the 2011 year.
